Fagtækni hf. specializes in the design and installation of electrical and data systems for companies and institutions. The company was founded in 1990 by Matthías Sveinsson and adopted its current name when it was incorporated as a private limited company in 1995.

Since its inception, Fagtækni has been at the forefront of information technology and data communications in Iceland. It was among the first companies in the country to implement Ethernet cabling systems. Over time, the company evolved from traditional electrical installations to offering specialized services in the design and implementation of complex data infrastructure.

Fagtækni also takes on project management roles as a general contractor, delivering integrated electrical and data solutions as part of larger construction projects.
